Biologist (University of São Paulo), masters in Botany (National Institute for Amazonian Research) and PhD in Production Ecology and Resource Conservation (Wageningen University, The Netherlands). Is experienced in interdisciplinary projects focused mainly on ethnoecology, traditional resource management systems, ecology of agroecosystems and historical ecology. His research is based on the integrated analysis of sociocultural and biophysical factors aiming to foster the development of sustainable production systems and the conservation of socio-biodiversity. He is currently a researcher at the Centre for Conservation and Sustainability Science (CSRio) and a postdoctoral researcher at the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS).
