An agronomist with masters and doctorate degrees in Soils and Plant Nutrition from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of Sao Paulo. Currently Cristiano is an Assistant Professor and management committee member of the Agricultural and Forestry Innovation and Research Center at Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina. He conducted part of his research projects in Ireland, Japan, the US, and Canada, focusing on the production of biochar and bone char, their properties and capacities to improve fertilizer efficiency. His research experience includes soil fertilization systems, soil management and conservation, and remediation of degraded lands.
