Integrating forests into the sustainable development agenda holds promise for improving the natural environment as well as human society. However, the day-to-day task of doing so is complicated by limited knowledge and systems of rapid change. This seminar examines these topics through two separate lenses: mangrove conservation in Thailand and forest fires in California
On the last CSRIo seminar, we received the environmental scientist Jacob Bukoski, who talked about “Forest Management and Decision-making Under Rapid Global Change”, through two separate lenses: mangrove conservation in Thailand and forest fires in California.
Jacob is an environmental scientist focused on the ecology, management and restoration of forests, globally. He examines these topics primarily through the case of mangrove conservation and restoration for mitigating climate change. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of California, Berkeley.
